Encryption protects your data from strangers, but it also means a failed encrypted drive needs both a physical recovery and the right key. We recover data from encrypted drives when you have the password or recovery key.
Encryption we work with
- BitLocker on Windows laptops and desktops
- FileVault and Apple T2 / Apple silicon encrypted storage
- VeraCrypt and TrueCrypt volumes
- Hardware-encrypted external drives (WD, Seagate, Samsung)
- Encrypted Synology and QNAP NAS volumes
Finding your BitLocker recovery key
- Your Microsoft account: sign in at aka.ms/myrecoverykey
- Your work account: your IT administrator can find it in Microsoft Entra ID or Active Directory
- A printout or a file saved to a USB stick when BitLocker was turned on
We can’t break strong encryption, and nobody honest can. If you have lost both the password and the recovery key, call us anyway: there are sometimes unencrypted copies of files, backups or old drives that help.
How it works
Book online or call, and we collect the drive or you ship it to us. An engineer evaluates it, tells you what can be recovered and gives you a fixed quote. Recovery only starts when you approve it, and we work from a copy of the drive, never your only original.
Start your recovery
Book online for a job number and shipping instructions, or call and talk to an engineer. We evaluate the drive and give you a fixed quote before any recovery work starts.
