Wherever you are in the US, you can send your drive to us. Most of our recoveries arrive by mail, and drives travel safely when they are packed properly.
How to send a drive
- Book online. You get a job number by email, and we send you the shipping address and any questions about your drive.
- Pack the drive as below, with a note of your job number.
- Ship it with tracking. For urgent cases, use overnight delivery.
- We let you know when it arrives, then send the evaluation and quote.
Packing a drive safely
- Put the drive in an anti-static bag, or a sealed zip-lock bag
- Wrap it in at least 2 inches of bubble wrap or foam on every side
- Use a sturdy box, not a padded envelope
- For RAID and NAS drives, label each drive with its bay number and pack them separately
- Send laptops and Macs with their chargers
- Don’t send your only copy of anything else, such as other backup drives, unless we ask for them
Getting your data back
We return recovered data on a new external drive, shipped with tracking, or as a secure download for smaller recoveries. Your original drive comes back with it unless you ask us to dispose of it securely.
Start your recovery
Book online for a job number and shipping instructions, or call and talk to an engineer. We evaluate the drive and give you a fixed quote before any recovery work starts.
